Ice & Summer Fishing
A lot of these lakes are pretty shallow, warm up quickly in spring and have a longer growing season in comparison to North Dakota’s much deeper and larger waters, they also have a lot of forage. Combine abundant forage and the habitat and these fish are growing quickly. Sometimes they surprise us in how fast they grow said Scott Gangl from Game and Fish Department.
Stocked annually by the game and fish commission! Plenty of northern pike, sturgeon, and hungry catfish.
Duck Hunting
North Dakota is legendary for being the best goose and duck hunting in the Lower 48! We shoot mixed limits of ducks including Mallards, Pintails, Teals, Widgeons and just about every duck that travels the Central and Mississippi flyways! Every birds shot is processed and can be taken home. Lots of Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Light Geese, Pheasants, and Turkeys, as well.
Birding
North Country Lodge is situated in the heart of the prairie pothole region. Here, amid the rolling hills of the Missouri Coteau, birders can watch Western Grebes dance, view Sharp-tailed Grouse on their mating grounds, or seek secretive birds like the Sprague’s Pipit, Chestnut-collared Longspurs, and Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow. There are endless, relaxing opportunities to immerse yourself in the wildlife of the region.
